I have been having this feeling as if someone is trying to set me up as of late. The signs are everywhere, some big, some small, but signs nonetheless.
Me:
“Excuse me sir, but my wife and I have been standing in line for over an hour now.”
Man:
“And? I have been living in Tracy for over thirty years!”
Me:
“Thirty years in Tracy, but you have only been living in this line for two minutes!”
Man:
“YOU GUYS” are all comedians, lol…
At this point of our conversation I am at a crossroads, a place in life when one has a brief opportunity to stop and reflect on his or her current situation. As I reflect on my current situation, I have found that I have a decision to make. I can act out my anger as expected, or I can use my thoughts as a weapon to defend myself against this unwarranted verbal attack. My decision is an easy one, for I now have a family to care for, and I’ll be damned if my wife gets a wake up call from these four words, “COLLECT CALL FROM DAMON.”

“What a coincidence, my wife and I were just talking about how funny the world is. Have a safe and blessed day!”
Man: (now laughing) You as well. And by the way, you are next in line, my apologies….
Me:
“Apology accepted, and thank you!”
Man’s wife:
“No, thank you!”
Cashier:
“NEXT IN LINE”
“Therefore I want men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.”
