“Our children are the ones who are affected by this most, for their young minds are empty vessels that need to be filled with knowledge of self. Our children need to be able to retain information that is vital for their survival in a world that does not view them as equal. Our children cannot afford to wander aimlessly in a state of euphoria as others do, for it will adversely effect their mental development as it pertains to assertiveness, thinking clearly, memory recall, and problem solving.”

“I don’t understand, people of all colors are using marijuana now, young and old. I just do not see how color plays a part in this at all, I am sorry, but I just do not see how color is relevant in this situation.”

“I know you don’t, for you choose not to see what affects a person of color, but I choose to see. Marijuana is another tool used for continued separation, for it divides us mentally as well as physically. Our children are our future, but what kind of future can one have when one chooses to walk around in a lethargic state, a state of weariness that diminishes energy, diminishes mental capacity, and diminishes motivation. The legalization of a substance that renders ones mind incapable of thinking clearly is detrimental to a person of color.

“Be sober minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour.”
