The weight that I carry as a Black man is a heavy load, it is passed down, it is inherited, it is generational. As the years continue to press on my body is becoming weary, I am beginning to get fatigued as the weight that I carry ages me, for I am not as strong as I once was. I will admit, there is not much fight left in me physically, but spiritually, I will continue to write and fight on. His words that I write in black and white are full of His truth, and as I fight this unholy battle while writing His words of truth the heavy load will soon begin to lighten, and I know this to be true, for His scriptures tell me no lies:
Then Jesus said, “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
