There was a time when I was lost, when I wandered this unholy world aimlessly, I drifted, it was of my own doing, alcohol dependency was my downfall, my life lesson, friends gone, failed relationships, I was single, I was alone, I needed help, I reached out, many came to my aid, I failed them, I failed myself, I failed us, I was a talented basketball player but my skills quickly diminished, I dropped out of school, I needed a job, I should of stayed in school, I was spoiled, I own it, mom and dad only wanted the best for me, I was offered a job, the pay did not meet my expectations but I needed the money to satisfy my alcohol addiction, my side was beginning to hurt, It wasn’t my liver, it was my stomach lining, that damn alcohol, I should of never started drinking, I’ll quit soon, my addiction, dad they fired me for drinking beer in the bathroom on my lunch break, I am sorry, okay, I’ll leave then, bye, pull over, put your hands where I can see them, this is your last warning, put your hands where I can see them, yes sir, collect call from Damon, dad I am in jail, drunk driving, I hit a car, injured two, totaled, dad paid bail, collect call from Damon, dad I am in Jail, drunk driving, I hit a car, injured one, totaled, I broke my wrist and I fractured my foot, dad paid bail, collect call from Damon, dad I am in jail again, drunk driving, I hit two cars, none injured, I tried to run but I couldn’t make it over the fence, I was too drunk, police dog performed well, what do you mean you are not going to pay my bail, reality, one year in jail, time is precious, dad when I get out this time I am going to get some help, I promise, I never did, broken promises, until He saved me twelve years ago, twenty–three years later, preservation, His love for me, Thank You Jesus
