Lord, I need You, I am afraid to walk into the darkness after the sun sets, so I stay alone inside looking through my bedroom window, scared to face my fears that keep me behind closed doors. Night after night I find myself gazing in wonderment, for I want to go beyond the walls that protect me when the light of day moves elsewhere. This night awaits my arrival, it whispers in my ear, “Come to me.” My home, my sanctuary, my peace, my quiet, my distance I keep, for now. Lord I pray to you for strength, for courage, and for guidance on this night, I put all my trust in You. Lord I am in need, I am afraid to venture into the darkness that awaits without You, for the night belongs to those who rise when the light of day moves elsewhere. Lord I want to thank You for blessing me with Your words of truth, for Your scriptures are with me at all times now, peace You give, my heart, no longer troubled, afraid, I am not. Lord with Your words of truth guiding me I wander freely, self-imprisonment is a thing of the past, I am no longer held captive by the fear that the night creates, thanks I give, You have set me free.
