“MANY THANKS I GIVE”

As I stand naked in the mirror looking at my truth the reflection that I cast is that of a storm brewing, with a bright flash and a thundering growl followed by the darkening of the sky, a feeling of weathering begins to storm my being. As I age, my reflection does not mirror my inner thoughts, for my thoughts are youthful, my thoughts are agile, and my thoughts are full of wonder, but they are also of a time that has since passed. When I was younger my roots would hold tight through the storms of life, but as I age and the storms begin to worsen my roots are beginning to show through the soil. As the strong winds and the heavy rains of this world continue to wreak havoc I am reminded of how blessed I am to remain standing through it all, many thanks I give, for without Your Love, Your Grace, and Your Mercy, I could not stand tall as I do now.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

Isaiah 43:2

Many thanks I give……

  1. An older pastor told us once that the secret to growing older gracefully is to let go of the things you can no longer do and give thanks for the things you can still do. Being 76, that has helped my wife and me.

  2. My roots are showing, too! It’s a good thing to remember we have much deeper roots than the ones we can see popping through the ground. Those are the important roots, the ones that keep us strong and grounded. Wonderful post!

  3. Thank you for the follow. I am so glad for it has introduced me to your wonderful writing.
